The monthly meeting of the Environmental and Natural Resources Monitoring Network (ENRMN) with the Secretariat of Afghanistan Young Greens (AYG) held on May 3, 2014, at the Office of the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU).
The meeting, after the implementation of its preparatory programs and its opening, was recited by verses from the Holy Quran, with the words of Mr. Mohammad Shafaq, Executive Director of the Afghanistan Young Greens (AYG), He thanked the members of the ENRMN for their full cooperation with the leadership and staff of the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit.
Mr. Shafaq said: “The sympathism of the members of the network and the cooperation of Organization such as the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit, is the main factor behind the success of the Environmental and Environmental Monitoring Network. According to him, the coherence of national and human environmental protection implies clean motives and green ideas gathered around the center of the network”.
Dr. Arzalla Nemat, Director of the (AREU), also expressed his satisfaction with the presence of members of the Environmental and Natural Resources Conservation Network at the office of the organization. Miss Zaland, while introducing the joint unit of the (AREU), assured her of the full readiness of the organization to cooperate with the network for environmental protection and natural resources.
The Director of the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU) said that the network should be registered on NEPA’s source of information, so that it will be informed of all its plans and joint activities to achieve environmental protection, which is a national responsibility And a human mission. He believes that this network should be part of a universal umbrella in the form of universal social mobilization to work together with state-owned macro-entities and within the framework of national strategies.
Based on the existing plans of the meeting by secretariat of the Afghanistan Young Greens (AYG), some members proposed to hold the election of the board of directors in the first part of the meeting (before lunch). The proposal was approved by a majority of the Independent Committee and the Network Assessment, and the selection of board members began with a secret election. Selection of board members after the identification of candidates by the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee was held among 9 volunteers who resulted in the following:
A. Selection of board members as follows:
• Mohammad Tawab Stanikzai from TLO (The Liaison Office) with 19 votes
• Seyed Ahmad Ataee from Ata Council with 17 votes
• Mohammad Agha Amiri from the Zindagi Foundation with 13 votes
• Ali Jah Fasihi from Herat Citizens’ Organization with 13 votes
• Dr. Abdul Baqi Ghubar from the Key Group by obtaining 12 votes as an alternate member
B. Selection of individual members in the following order:
• Hassan Ghulami by obtaining 22 votes
• Assadullah Sarwary with 17 votes
3) Repetitive insolvency with 6 votes as alternate members in individual members
The presentation of the operational plan and work plan of the ENRMN in 2018 was another part of the agenda of the meeting, which was held by Mr. Shafaq.
The members then asked questions about this plan and other issues related to network activities that were answered by the network secretary.
At the end of the monthly meeting, discussions on how the Provincial Committee was set up and the launch of extensive activities at provincial levels. Finally, it was decided that each of the members of the network would develop a specific plan for the establishment and operation of the provincial Committee and deal with the network’s secretariat. AYG is also responsible for considering proposals and providing a comprehensive plan for the establishment and operation of the Provincial Committee.
This meeting ended with the prayers of the good and the above decisions, and they all committed themselves to continuing their efforts in the framework of the prospect.
